2009 Plans: Health and Society

I started unthawing in 2008; I want to keep it up.

I. Diet. Basically, "more of the same".

I.A. Stomach-stress-reduction (BRATTY/CRAM). It's boring. But it helps. I must be quick to simplify when I feel stomach problems, and patient with my stomach as it gets its act together. And an overall reduction of spiciness and other potential irritation's apparently in order.

I.B. Cooking. I have been feeling like more cooking lately, and enjoying it. I want to keep that up. I should shop for some more cooking-for-the-lazy books and expand my repertoire.

II. Health. Oh, this is such a bugaboo. Physical activity keeps stirring up more crud. I'm going to have to keep experimenting to find out where my walls are now, and where I can push.

II.A. Weight. I'm not bothering with the scale right now. I'm looking at things like waist size and skin quality. It's not that I think weight is irrelevant, but I know from past experience how much mine can fluctuate without really correlating to anything else indicative of well-being; I'm thinking that it will matter more when I'm somewhere closer to real health.

II.B. Exercise. I've been doing okay with my little pedal unit; I can and must improve on that. I've enjoyed more walking in recent weeks; I must experiment to find a sustainable schedule for that.

III. Socializing. Isolation sucks.

III.A. At least once each quarter, do something fun with people I like to be with.

2009 plans: gaming

I've decided to set up a "2009 plans" tag to help me track what works in my planning and what doesn't.

I. Keep gains made in 2008. Which means...

I.A. Continue my D&D campaigns. The Tuesday one is almost self-sustaining; I have a good lead for act II of the Thursday one, I think, and look forward to seeing how it works.

I.B. Do some more short gaming writing. I may aim for one a month, or something else, but by the equinox I'll have a schedule for the year and some work the keeps to that schedule.

II. Storytelling with props. I hanker for something in the realm where Amber is mechanically complex. Still refining my wishes for this.

II.A. Do some.

II.B. Write some about it.

III. Whispering Vault and New Horizons. This is, I think, the year when I un-freeze in my creative soul enough to do something about these again.

III.A. Play them a bunch more.

III.B. Assemble a master list of specific goals in light of that.

III.C. Write.

I'm thinking about some easy way of tracking this kind of thing. Very basic HTML would of course do it, with handcoded updates. But maybe something fancier...if I get really into the groove, I would like to have some project management software. Does any of that stuff handle fuzzy targets and goals that aren't nailed down yet, along with actual scheduling?
