I'm not a good eater. Among other things, I tend to go too long without eating and then overeat at one too-large sitting. But I'm doing better about it, partly because of making more effort up front in the fixing about portion control.
Which brings me to my hobby venture of this week: preparing for summer eating. Ziploc makes, I learned recently, these one-cup plastic containers suitable for storing in the freezer. One cup is a good serving of things like soups and chilis. So I've been fixing up my meals in the crockpot, and having half of it to eat during the day and freezing the other half.
So I've now got the better part of two dozen meals sitting in the freezer. When it gets hot, there will be streches where anything in the slightest complicated will seem too much. But "put it down to thaw, get over your morning nausea, microwave it", that I can manage. And it's stress-relieving to know I've got this much preparation done already.
Thinking about repackaging some of my canned fruit, too. I'm not always someone you'd want to trust with a can opener. Have to see what can freeze, and how long some things can be safe in the fridge.
