A music meme, hurray!

Honestly, I like this kind of thing from time to time. Got this particular one from [info]ladyjestyr.

List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now, shaping your spring. Post these instructions in your LJ along with your 7 songs.

So let's see what's in my played-lots list...

"Tears", Dancing in the Dark, by the Crüxshadows
This is in a mix of peppy-but-not-necessarily-cheery stuff I have as ambient music for playing WoW to, particularly when it's time for one of my rogues. It's also on Dancing in the Dark, a very well-chosen collection of music commemorating 10 years of Dancing Ferret Records. Youtube (concert performance with unusually good sound)

"For the Reunion", Final Fantasy: Advent Children soundtrack, by Nobuo Uematsu
My favorite piece of music in Advent Children, in a style I'm dearly fond of but don't know quite how to categorize - there's a building-dread pacing thing that's common to "Sunday Morning" from Benjamin Britten's Four Sea Interludes and the framing sound in Don Henley's "Boys of Summer". Youtube (music with Advent Children wallpapers)

"Aurora", Music of the Spheres, by Mike Oldfield
New work from Mr. Oldfield, and it's a very fine album - thoroughly orchestral, rich and mellow and all that good stuff. Youtube (good fan video with lots of aurora pictures)

"Spirit of Radio", Spirit of Radio: Greatest Hits (1974-1987), by Rush
Oh, come now, if one has to explain why one is listening to Rush a bunch for a while, one needs a better readership. Youtube (relatively recent concert performance)

"Is It Any Wonder", Tribal Opera, by Mark Heard
Sort of election year listening, I guess. i had a dream, it was a mystery / i dreamed of science and of history /i dreamed that since we stood up out of the dust / we formed our words on lips of beauty and trust /i should've known better than that / i should've known better than that / everything looks different in the morning Youtube

"Beat Box", (Who's Afraid Of?) The Art of Noise, by the Art of Noise
More of that pep stuff. Youtube

"The Logical Song", Breakfast in America, by Supertramp
And then sometimes one needs less pep, more smooth, particularly when it's the time to heave again and again and again and have to bail out of WoW to do so. Into such moments of stress, one puts the smooth. Youtube (live performance, terrifyingly 70s)
