Incidents and Accidents, Hints and Allegations

Food notes: good dip

Hidden Valley's Spicy Ranch dressing is really good for dipping carrots and celery into. It's got mild chilis and this and that, but isn't too hot to be comfortable for me. (Many depressed people thrive on very spicy food, but the opposite reaction is just as common, particularly when (as in my case) there are allergies to consider.)

This is a post of no particular significance, except that it lets me start a new tag.

I'm having a lot of fun lately with extended musical binges. For hours at a time, even for a whole day, I'll listen pretty much exclusively to one band. The newest such target has been, I think, the Crüxshadows. Mostly it's been older acts, mostly thought not exclusively relatively mellow ones: Supertramp, Electric Light Orchestra, Yes, David Bowie, Eurhythmics and Annie Lennox solo, Tangerine Dream, Pink Floyd and some of the guys' solo albums (particularly those of Richard Wright), Bruce Cockburn, Alan Parsons Project.

This is of course the music of my teens and college years. I haven't stopped being interested in new stuff - just this week a friend introduced me to the work of Folkearth, and I love it. But as the dominant note right now, reconnection and familiarity suits me just fine.
